I am currently playing in a D&D 3.5 game but I have also played Exatled, Star Trek,The Old World of Darkness,Pathfinder, among many others. I will play any game system well except for Rolemaster, I am sorry I am not a big fan of charts and that is all that is there.

Carl, are you interested in us trying to sort out a time for the whole group to get together or are you wanting to opt out of the group?

Sorry, weeknights don't work for me, and I already have a group that's trying to get our schedules in sync to get back together.

Wanted to make sure before spending the money.

As this is going to be my first time running a Call of Cthulhu game, I'm not positive about what to have you bring.

Though if you can't tell your head from your Cthul… then there may be issues I can't really help with.

After checking various calendars and notes, I'd say we're going to be playing in 1966, starting just before the May Day celebrations, so you might want to brush up on your knowledge of the time period.

A lot happened. Civil rights, voting rights, Vietnam, Vietnam protests, drugs, the Kennedy assassination, the Cold War was going on, the Berlin Wall, the Cuban Missile Crisis, Malcolm X assassination, Food Stamps officially started, Medicare started, Timothy Leary is all over the news for drug use and possession of marijuana.

I'm big on learning (I know, I'm evil), so bone up on your mid-60's history and see if you can find a sixth edition CoC book to look over. I'd suggest DriveThru RPG for the core book, but that's because I like my e-books.

Is there anything it might behoove me to look at maybe getting if we were to end up playing? Or do I just show up not knowing my head from my Cthul-aaaaggggggghhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!

My Glorious Book Of Eldritch Love And Compassion says Sixth Edition on it.

Didn't see it/missed it above - what edition would you be looking at, as the Wikipedia article seems to cite like, 6 of 'em, aside from Anniversary Editions.
(Sheesh, and ppl are mad that D&D, the GAME for which at any rate, is older, and is on 4th edition)

Anyone looking for a game might move over to the Shadowrun game thread if they are interested.

I noted it as closed nearly two weeks ago and with all of my RL fun, I don't have enough funds to buy up the necessary books to fully get a Call of Cthulhu game off the ground.

My wife has just informed me that, in my own best interest, the game shall be stay open, since she wants to play CoC.

Maybe I should take votes:
Either I can run this or I can run Shadowrun.

You guys can choose which one.
I'm not allowed to mix genres again, so no Call of Cthulhu 2072.
The Call of Cthulhu game would be around the 1970s: Peace, Love and Cthulhu.
The Shadowrun game would be heavily influenced by the William Gibson novels.

I'll consider this to be reason to keep the thread alive, as I had honestly given up hope on both games, but I'll talk with my people and we can try to get everyone together for a sit down on this one soon.

Oh, it's going to be a 4th Edition game.

I just need two more people.

Maybe if we had some reason for the Wichita gamers to hook into the WG site it might help pick things up a bit.

Make the page into a one stop shop for people looking for answers and information.

I use The Dumpshock Forums for Shadowrun and The Exalted Compendium Redux for Exalted stuff.
I have many other resources for my RPGs, but I think it would be helpful if we could put all of our combined internet search resources together and make the site something people consider an important resources for their games.

It looks like one game set is needed? What I mean to say is that a core set is not required by each player?

I see that this game has a CCG element to it, but it looks like the CCG part is to the core set and not to individual players?

I might be interested in playing.

What kind of time commitment is a typical play session, and are you open to (a potential) someone who's never played the game?

Shadowrun is my favorite, game. I'd love to play.
