Alright, in the wake of Chronicles: the Convergence, there has been a fair amount of interest in having smaller events in between the bigger cons… it's worked in the past with mixed success, and for me, one of the big problems has been lack of people willing to shoulder part of the load (outside of running games). Now that several people have stepped forward wanting to help get something going, I think we can make a more successful go of it this time.
SO… Wichita Roleplayers Game Day 3: We Ain't Dead Yet. Time for a war council. We can do a lot of planning online, but nothing beats a good face-to-face exchange of ideas.
The issues at hand are:
- Budget (how much do we spend, how much do we have to recoup?)
- Venue (accessibility, cost, scalability if the event grows)
- Potential dates (as soon as we can reasonably manage)
- Format (the two-slot we used before, or something different?)
- Signup / seat-assignment method (potential to experiment)
- Possible introduction of non-RP games
And anything else we can think of. For my part, I want to meet the people interested in helping, get a feel for what they want, and "cast my vision" (if you'll pardon the corp leadership training speak) for what I want the Game Days, and the Wichita Gamers, to achieve, both short term and long term.
I'm thinking this Thursday (8/20) at 7 PM at Mead's Corner Coffeehouse, Douglas and Emporia.
That's negotiable if the date/time doesn't work for people who need to be there. Just let me know.
In the meantime, feel free to bring up things you'd like to discuss here… we can add to the agenda for the war-meeting, or we can discuss on the forum.
